Essence Makeup - Now in UK

Yes after my naughty hoarding ways (see post) I buy yet more makeup.  I popped into Wilko not so long ago and noticed the Essence Makeup Stand which I had heard was coming to the UK.  Only I was surprised that they picked Wilko and not the likes of Superdrug or Boots, oh well all the same I still had to test out some goodies.

The Essence makeup line reminded me a little of the Miss Sporty Makeup stand, I would even go as far as saying the packaging was very similar too.

The Essence Makeup was also on 3 for 2 so I picked up 6 products.

The Essence Lipliner - In the nude and Wish me a rose 99p
The Essence XXXL longlasting lipgloss matt effect in Velvet rose - around £2.40
The Essence Longlasting Lipstick in 3 shades in Dare to be Nude - Love Me - Coral Calling -£2.30 

The Essence Lipliner I found (maybe just had a bad two) they came on really smooth but looked so chalk like, if you know the look, hopefully you don't.

The Essence XXXL longlasting lipgloss matt effect - All I can say is don't waste your money, I dumped this in the bin - sorry Essence, but this was a serious bad copy of the NYX Soft Lip Cream which I love, also love Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream - I must give you a reason of course, it came on patchy and dried too quickly and crumbled off my lips, yuck.....

But finally a dream come true, amongst the rough I found the smooth.  I cannot rave enough about the beautiful Essence Longlasting Lipstick all 3 shades I love, they didn't feel at all dry, looked amazing, came on smoothly and felt moisturising.  I can't think of enough good things to say to do them justice (that's a lot coming from a lipstick crazy like me).  My fav is the shade Love me, fits the bill.

Hoarding Beauty Products

I have recently been reading many blog posts from people whom feel they have way too many beauty products and makeup that they never seem to use them up....  I too am now starting to think "Do I have too many products which I can't use up and won't ever use up?

well, we only have one face and one set of lips, I mean how many lipsticks do I really need? What would you say is a reasonable amount of items?

I think blogging can be very expensive, especially if you buy every "New Product" that is released just to review them, then buy all the lipsticks you see on Essie Button and Fleur De Force youtube channels - I love them both, yes I have so many lipsticks most of which I have seen on both these lovely ladies channels ha ha, thanks girls. (I do love my lipsticks) -  but back to how many I have - after downsizing I say: maybe... hush hush... IT was 145 Now 95 give or take.

It is way toooooo many and all I can do is buy more and more, its like a crazy addiction which is now hurting my bank account - I need to pay bills..... Do I really need another lippy, one turns to too many and this is where I end up - what is your vice?

Well, I did the Spending Ban thing and by the end of the month I thought I would buy yet another lipstick, treat myself... shame on me......

I have now come to realise - I need my lipsticks in my life, I want my lipsticks in my life, I want more lipsticks in my life....only kidding.  I am trying to use up some I already own, really, does anyone ever use up a full one?

We can blame youtube, we can blame blogging - but really deep down, why do we need and want so many beauty products? Compulsive hoarding

Hoarding Factsheet  are we actually Hoarding or Collecting?

Disappointing products

Some of these products may work for you, but they are not for me :( sad face.....

Firstly I have Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser Cocoa Radiant why do you have to spray all over the shop, I put you on my legs and you choose my floor, then I try my arms but you still love everything else in sight - bottom line I sprayed it all over the place, including me, apart from that - I loved the smell.....ha ha, so not a complete fail.

Then I have the No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush Stick I found this bad boy awful, I know some people do like this but I just could not blend it out, it stuck to my face in all the wrong places, no no no - I much prefer the Stila convertible color see my post about them here.

Also I have NYX Matte Lipstick I found this so drying for my poor lips, it can be mixed with lipgloss but I still didn't like the feel of this on my lips, yet some love this stuff.....

Next up is NYC BB Beautifying Blushable Cream Stick which I picked up in Superdrug, as you can tell I love me a good cream blush, this was not one, again blotch face...did not blend out, I will try to play with it again as I had high hopes, no idea why.....

Last up I have Seventeen Skin Wow Primer, highlighter in one thing.  I really wanted this to work on me but I found it was so obvious and chunky on my face, if you know the look I mean...hopefully you don't.  Like I said it might work on your skin.
